Help Me
If there are areas of your life that are Out Of Control and you are seeking help to work through them, then “Recovery For The City” meetings are just for you! By working through the 12 Steps and applying Biblical principles, we grow to become true Disciples of Christ and are freed from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, joy and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. As we progress through the steps we discover that our higher power is a personal, loving and forgiving savior. We believe this higher power is found in Jesus Christ.
Small Group Meetings on Tuesday Nights
- Women’s anger management & codependency (pleasing, fixing or controlling people)
- Men’s substance addictionsWomen’s substance addictions
- Men’s sexual addictions
- Men’s anger Management & control issues
What Makes us Different
Recovery for the City meetings provide a spiritual hospital, a safe place for hurting people. Our mission is to move from being “addicts” and “victims” to finding true freedom and joy from the pains and brokenness of our lives.
Small Group Guidelines
- All of our meetings are anonymous. We keep what is shared in our group within the group.
- We tell our stories focusing on our own thoughts and feelings without judging or condemning others.
- We do not preach at or try to fix each other.
- Our meetings are not professional therapy. We are not licensed therapists. Our facilitators are volunteers whose only desire is to encourage us in the faith.
- Since these are anonymous meetings, anyone who does not wish to share is free to pass.
- Our ultimate goal is to move from telling our story to telling God's story in our lives.
Looking for a CHANGE?
We all look for ways to CHANGE! At “Recovery for the City” our addictions and compulsive behaviors CHANGE as we cooperate with God to change our beliefs. We replace our mistaken beliefs (lies) and changes in our behavior become natural and obvious! By sharing our story and God’s work in our lives we are encouraged and empowered to begin a new life of recovery.
What we ARE:
- Encouragers in the faith
- People who care about you!
What we’re NOT:
- Professional counselors
- Psychotherapy
Prayer for Serenity
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
