Dear Supporters,
As the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Recovery for the City, International,
I’ve been deeply involved with this organization. Over the last four to five years, I’ve seen the work of our President, Dr. Paul Hardy, multiply and our programs’ success rate increase. It just gets better and better!
First of all, I wanted to THANK YOU for your loyal support of this program. Now we all know it’s been a tough year on all of us. Businesses are hurting and people have become seriously cautious about their expenses. Just the same, as year-end draws near, we have an opportunity to review our charitable gifting and perhaps even involve our families in some last minute philanthropic decisions.
If like me, you enjoy knowing your contributions are being used 99.9% to save a soul and save a life... please join me. You can read for yourself stories of how our program is doing amazing things. Not only is R4CI helping people downtrodden from years of addictions, the program is making life- changing impacts on others in our community.
Often, we think recovery is for the “down-and-outer” type of person. But you know, I’m realizing more every day, we all need mentoring, discipleship and inspiration, and that’s what these people really provide to “up-and-outer” people as well. Please see the attachment on individuals impacted by Recovery for the City.
I’m watching this program explode in growth! This year we started the Recovery for Kids program. While adults are in their program, the children (5-15 a week) are being taught the 12 steps at “their” level of understanding. This is significant to not only healing the family, but breaking the cycle of addiction. Dr. Paul is also training two former gang leaders to work with teens and help them get out of drug and gang-oriented culture.
The donations for Recovery for the City (like most non-profits) are hurting this year. But God has been faithful through YOU, concerned individuals who want to help stop the cycle of addiction in hundreds, even thousands of peoples’ lives. So, let me ask: Are YOU willing to close the year out positively with a gift to Recovery for the City? If we all help at some level, it will help us continue the hard work and long hours that are building hope and saving thousands of lives in our very own community.
Thank you for taking R4CI into your hearts and prayers. Your gifts this season will guide our leadership and help develop the fortitude to build many tomorrows. May your holidays be blessed with peace and joy.
Sincerely,
John Bishard, Chairman of the Board
